Hello,
Been a member for a few months but this is my first post. Went to the AFCO back in Jan/Feb expressing an interest in WSOp. Met the criteria bar my maths GCSE! I got a 'c' but the position requires a 'b'. Consequently, I've re-sat my Maths GCSE with results being released in Aug!
I'm finding it frustrating at the moment not being able to do a whole lot to forward my interest apart from researching the role using various websites and forums (including this one). I've done some work experience at RAF Henlow, which was brilliant; it gave me a good but small insight into RAF life.
There is no certainty whatsoever the WSOp trade will open when I get my results (and that's obviously banking on passing interviews, etc as well). This is where my dilemma comes in, my 'back-up' job is Aircraft Technician and this trade is currently recruiting. Do I apply for this role or stick to my guns and wait for WSOp to open which could be any amount of time and risk both not opening?
Cheers for any replies,
Andy
p.s. apologies if this thread is better suited somewhere else-please move if necessary
