Haydock Park, is this the Haydock Park as in the now Horse racecourse close to the M6? if so, never knew an RAF station existed at this location.

If you come off the m6 at exit 23 and travel along the east lance tirades St Helens the quarters where there on the left the camp was somewhere round there.

Also I've just spoken to my old man and he seems to think it was just RAF haydock. He had a mate who was a stacker there and was from St Helens who had a last tour of duty there. Also a couple of St Helens rugby league players did their national service there one of them was Alex Murphy.

:raf:Your Dad's correct, it was just Haydock and Alex Murphy was stationed there, as like so many sportsmen of the day where station close to thier clubs. Alex was one of the few that managed to play Union & League which was unheard of in those days
