My name is Chris and i'm new to this website.
I'am serving onboard an HM Ship and have been for the past 10 years but now halfway through my career i want a change or a new challange to undertake. I have been thinking of transfering to the RAF for a while. My trade is a Chef and am at the moment a Leading Hand. I want to be an RAF chef or change all together to be a RAF Driver as i love that sort of stuff. Many people onboard my ship don't know how to go about transfering over to the RAF from the RN. Is there anyone out there that knows anything about this matter and can tell me how to go about it or even if the RAF would want a Chef from the RN.
Please HELP Guys if you can ?

Hi mate, the AFCO would likely be your best port of call (forgive the pun).

You know there are opportunities to work in an RAF mess as a RN Chef though? There are lots of RN chefs in the messes at RAF Wittering.
 
Hi Chris,

Ex AB(CIS) here man. Have recently left and find myself being drawn to the light blue, so we are in the same boat. (so to speak). I asked around about transfer as well but once I found out just how much of a nightmare this is I have decided to enjoy the torture of civi street for a while. Will be reporting to the AFCO as fast as my little legs will carry me. I only hope that my time in the "dark side" won't hinder me. (But if any one asks me about a golden rivet I may have to punch them.) Best of luck to you man. I have to admit being a Logs(CS)(P) or whatever it is now would send me nuts so fair one to you mate.
