Just thought I would introduce myself. I have been checking this site for a while now and decided I would bite the bullet and join, even though I am from one of the other services.

Thank you for your welcome notes. I was Army...now studying to be a Lawyer.

You must be an ex-rupert then? Still, you'll probably triple you income if not even more. Good luck and welcome.:PDT_Xtremez_14:

Excellent, Are you doing your LLb or LPC at the mo, and if you don't mind me asking, where at?

p.s. Welcome to the Goat

I was Army...now studying to be a Lawyer.

Good luck with joining the enemy. What you hoping to specialise in ? Hopefully ur not going to join the CPS (Criminal Protection Service, not as some believe crown prosecution service).

It is LLB and it is being done with the Open University. I have always studied from home.

Too busy being a domestic goddess, nanny and taxi to attend college.

Nice one, I'm currently doing my law degree too, what modules are next up for you?

I'm doing Tort, Jurisprudence, constitutional and EU next year.

My wife is a criminal barrister (high court advocate) with CPS also.... she did BVC instead of LPC...more expensive course, but maybe worth it in the long run. What about you LPC or BVC.

You are right about the more interesting cases, but the money isn't as great as civil, but not too bad.

Isn't that the avenue you would take if you hope to be employed by 'Injury lawyers for you'...

You are quite right, but you have to do it as part of an Honours Law degree as it's a core module!
So all lawyers and barristers have done the Tort module.

Its' CPS vs Police !

OK, just 1 small bite...:PDT_Xtremez_25:

...How about....you can't even be trusted to charge anyone now, and you have to have a duty CPS lawyer to do it for you so you don't make any silly mistakes in the law and let the crim off on a technicality!!!!:PDT_Xtremez_03:

At the moment I am reading up on Tort...as I am the victim of a RTA and the solicitor I have is dreadful.

There is also contractual law...which I find quite boring and difficult to get into....I am eager to get into the Prosecution side of things...but have to go at a slower pace as I am my own teacher....
