Morning,

Has anyone ever had any experience with taking a holiday out with travel insurance, and then a few months down the line your leave is being withdrawn so you cant go on the holiday?

Well my travel insurance covers this, but what kind of things will the insurance want from you to satisfy a claim like this?

Thanks

Don't forget also, should they not pay everything back, you should be able to claim Nugatory Holiday Expenditure (NHE). It's in JSP 752.

In laymans terms that'll be the excess on your policies.

An official letter from your boss should suffice in most cases.

Have a read of Ch 10 Section 8 when you can as there are a few things to check to ensure you are eligible but in a nutshell:

You claim on JPA F013 with documentary evidence stating:

Why the holiday was cancelled including a copy of the written order cancelling or the leave, your intended leave had been approved in the proper manner, proof of expenditure, evidence to show you have taken all reasonable steps to obtain a refund and details of your insurance cover.

Refund is then through your pay :PDT_Xtremez_14:

Cheers for all the advice guys. This was more of a question with dealing with it outside of the realms of JPA and the RAF.

I have an excess waiver with my insurance so ill be getting every penny back. Just wondering if anyone knew what the insurance companies ask for.

Probably wrong to put it in service gen but twas my first though :D
