Quick Question

For anyone who commutes from their home or admin guys, Whats the Maximum Distance away from camp , the RAF will pay for on home to duty . Ive heard 50 Miles shouted around , just wondered if anyone is in the know.

Many Thanks

You pay the first 9 miles (if in private accomodation) and it's capped at 50 miles, unless you can make a case why it should be more.

Be aware that apparently "well my house is 60 miles away" doesn't count as a good reason.

Im guessing then , That if your house is say 54 Miles away , You pay for the first 9 , and the corresponding 4 miles after the cap at 50 .

If your house is 50 miles away and you're on HTD Automatic, you'll get 100 miles HTD per day on your payslip, and 18 miles a day as a deduction.

The maxiumum distance is 50 miles, unless in exceptional circumstances laid out in JSP 752. You make a contribution of 9 miles. Travelling time is looked at more in the sense of use of public transport - as mileage isn't the best way of assessing that method of commuting. Beyond 50 miles you are potentially looking at being eligible for Get You Home, but consult the JSP 752 or your PSF for full details on that allowance as pertains to your personal circumstances. p.s. I am assuming you live in private accomodation. If it's SFA that's miles away for whatever reason, let me know and I'll tell you the slightly different rules for that.
