Hi guys
Got an informal chat with afco tommorow night to enquire about joining up. I'm 33 so left it late, and looking into the role of FOA. Came off meds for a mild anxiety disorder last december and as a child i've had asthma, though i've been clear for many many years now.

So in a nut shell, it's just a case of, own up and hope they're having a good day lol.

Best to be honest - they'll only find out later on when they ask your Doc.

Agreed mate. I know my medical history is what you might call, slightly ropey, but if i don't ask i'll never know. I've read some stories of people being rejected for very little, so my feet is firmly on the ground and i'm not expecting much joy.

Better to know the score right from the start of the process than towards the end as a mate recently found out. Rug pulled at very last minute due to a long since fixed med issue he was sure would be ok. The sooner you disclose all the facts, the clearer idea the AFCO can give you as to likely outcome - good luck

It's going to be my chosen route for sure...Must admit, until i did some research into the medicals i never knew just how choosey the RAF medics are. And i understand their reasoning, to a point. Anyway, thanks for replying mate.
