JSP 752 will set you straight.

If you move as a result of an assignment order, your family can move whenever you want and the move will be at public expense. However you can't claim DA or move at public expense until you have received a posting notification.

As things stand, if I understand correctly, nothing has been issued so your move would be for personal reasons - therefore you cannot claim a bean.

Yeah I had the same brief last week and asked the same question. I am looking to move from Private house to somewhere we want to reside in post RAF, I have updated my JPA and stated LTOD. If they cannot move me in that time to the area I want then they will pay a one shot for removals on me exiting the service. This only benefits people on 22 years service.
If I had not put my LTOD on JPA then I would not have got a penny.

Been told they will do there best to find a slot for us tbh , we are not married just common partners so we know we wont get a quarter.

I think you also need to fill in a form, something about registering your LTOD. and not just changing it on JPA. If you don't you get naff all.
As said it's all in the book.
