Hi all,

Great to see that there's now somewhere to get some proper gen from people who actually work in the RAF as a pose to pen pushers sitting in their cosy offices.

I'm a fairy at Waddo at SMS at the mo and just got informed I'm on a q-course for typhoon on an e-mail. Strange, as I hadn't been posted! A few phone calls by the wobbly and I find out I've been put down on the course but they didn't think about getting the paperwork sorted to get me posted, nice one. I now have just over a month to get my **** together including sorting out a move to a new quarter (I'm sure I'll get one with this much noticeDT_Xtremez_31: ).

I had to get a 90 day posting waiver sorted. Fine, got the wobbly's sig no worries, but the cheif clerks, impossible. I can't bloody get my posting notice until I get the thing faxed off, which means I can't get ANY paperwork sorted until I get my posting referance numbers. Things may start to get a little tight....DT_Xtremez_09:

Anyways, off to Sunny Coningsby soon so it's not all bad. I'm going to be getting on 11 Sqn which I hear hasn't got any jets yet! Can anyone tell me anything about where I'll be working or what the squadron'll be doing inc. det wise? Cheers and see you at the beer callDT_Xtremez_30:

You'll be doing very little to start. Course at TTF, then you will work with 17 on various trials. Good luck, see you round! I'm also Ex Waddo, 26 followed by Astor.

Cheers for that Stax. I drove down to Coningsby on Saturday to have a nose at the married quarters down there. They don't look as bad as I've been told but they do appear a little smaller than the ones here at Scampton. I'm looking forward to actually living on camp instead of having to commute every morning!

While there I took a drive around the camp and spotted your shiny new Typhoon Training building. Looks pretty sweet. Also spotted a few pubs in the village including Rattys?!

Depends on your age! Ratty's is actually a nightclub, late nights (a couple of nights it open 'til 3 AM). Best pub in the village is the Mucky Duck or for a good meal, the Leagate, (head for Boston)

I'm on 'B' Shift on the MSCC desk. Only been there since Chrimbo after being ousted from the bay due to 'civilianisation', despite this we still had to go through lean a few months before we left. What was the point of this as when the civvies took over they'd changed everything anyway...And relax. Yeah anyway B-shift...You at Coningsby?
