Guys,

Appealing for help as I am afraid from work at the mo.

I am a level 7 SGT high pay band and I am promoted to FS next month. Now my understanding is that you must receive a 2% pay rise. However I did 6 months last year Acting paid, I think this is known as SPAR. I was informed by the Chf Clk that this will be recognised when my date kicks in and therefore I will go in at a higher level, due to the backdate being recognised and it will also count towards time served for my rank pension hike.

I have no reason to disbelief this, although asking about it with colleagues etc, it has raised a few eyebrows, mainly what system is in place to action this.

Is it true?
How does it work?
Can I assume that I will get paid level 3 instead of level 2?

Appreciate any pointers.

Many thanks.

Your time served in SPAHR will count in your new rank therefore if you spent 6 months acting you will be 6 months closer to the next increment when promoted; it won't push you to the next level unless you have done 1 year in acting rank.

Just be sure that it was SPAHR authorised by Manning rather than local acting unpaid with SUPA which will mean absolutely nothing in pay increment terms.

Cheers Humble, it was definately SPHAR, acting paid, decreed by Manning along side an extension to post during this period.
