bit of an off-topic question slightly, so sorry, but in general how much leave do you get? In the RAF career resources you never hear about people in the force say they miss their children back home! lol.

thanks :PDT_Xtremez_26:

Normal UK conditions - 30 days a year plus public holidays plus most weekends if not required for duty.

Hope this helps.

You cant start on a monday and finish on a friday though, right? Unless you are on duty the day previously or immediately afterwards.....this makes a huge difference

Wrong!

Mon-Fri is now 5 days leave...not like in the old days when it was counted from cease-work to commence work: ie if you took a week (Mon-Fri) off it counted as 9 days because there were 2 weekends: that was when there were 40 days leave + Public holidays + Travelling days. Now it's 30 days + Public Hols you just count normal working days as your leave days.

If you want a week off annual leave you include the weekend but it still will only take 5 days annual leave from you allowance, just the same as any civvie company. The only difference is you have to put the saturday as your start day.
