Dear all,

I know we have lots of demands on our hard-earned cash, but if you would like to support a good cause please have a look at Major Packer. After a rocket attack on TELIC his prognosis was that he'd never walk again, but he's doing the London Marathon (he's still going!) in aid of H4H. He's managing nearly two miles a day so far.

It's a very humbling effort and hope you'll like to support him.

I read the article after he finished ane even though he was bloodied and took over 6 hours he completed it. I'd be happy to shake that mans hand!!!

Jeez, it kinda puts all the moaning some of us do about the fitness test to shame doesn't it.

Well done Major Packer. I'm almost considering signing up to twitter to follow his progress.

This is the sort of thing that should be headlining the newspapers. Not some fat cnut who feeds her kiddies McDonalds.

Hope he gets his million. I for one will be making a donation.

A collegue of my wife passed Ben McBean during the London Marathon and said a few words to him - thanking him for what he had done in Afghanistan and for his sacrifice. She was running for HFH and he turned to her and said "no, thank you for what you are doing here today, it was HFH that gave me this leg". Even telling my wife about it afterwards made her dewie eyed.

As an aside, she hadnt decided to run the race until, after leaving the HFH sponsorship form lying around in the department she found it was full - so she felt she had to :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Saw the report on the news this morning, a week gone and he is still going (2 miles a day) what an inspiration. I will be adding more to the H4H coffers later today thats the very least I can do.

I've just eased my conscience & donated a good sized chunk of £££s (by my standards !!) this morning after reading the link.. What a guy, makes all my moans & groans seem rather pathetic really.

I'm in London (Canary Wharf) on tuesday & will try & seek him out.

Click onto penfold's link, go to the supporters page. Couldn't read all the messages as a freak sandstorm in my office blew some grit into my eye.......
