...Clive Tyldesley is a predictable, speculative and crap dramatist who over embellishes upon what's actually happening on the pitch by using terminology only he knows (made up) that leaves the viewer to ponder "WTF did that kn0b just say..?"

Being a Scotsman I can readily sympathise. We've been listening to some drivel from English football commentators about some event that happened in 1966 every time England play!! :PDT_Xtremez_31:

Adrian Childs is like a fat downs mong. How he's managed to cling on to a job as a "pundit" I'll never know. And Roy Keane? WTF. As I'm on a roll, Andy Townsend.....you are a cnut too. You aren't irish, you were an englishman too sh1t to play for England, thats all.

Thats better......

ITV should never ever be allowed near any form of sport. They should stick to mind numbing soaps and reality tat for the unwashed masses.

ITV's coverage is crap.... I turn on to watch the game, all the drivel with childs and Keane gets turned off. I can't take anything childs says seriously and Keane was the man who slagged ex-players off for being 'pundits' and said he'd never stoop that low! Really.... Having said that, as a Geordie living in the frozen north of Scotland the Jock commentators can be just as bad/biased/****e. One of Celtics recent games in the chumpions league was just comical for the ****e they spouted. The name of the team escapes me but they from Azerbaijan or somewhere like that and apparently beating celtic was the greatest result in the history of the club/country. This was the same team who were the only ones to beat Bayern Munich in the champions league last year. So according to the commentators Celtic are better than Bayern and a bigger scalp for the 'minnows'. Honestly it was funnier than Still Game.

Childs was ok on MOTD 2 on a Sunday night for the more relaxed footy view but completely unsuitable for Prime Time football games. ITV poached Steve Rider from the BBC. He's a top high quality sports presenter of the highest quality. if they're wise they would bin Childs and bring in Rider for a more professional presentation.

Celtic were the best team in Europe last year. They beat Barcelona :-D!!

On a realistic note. Many Brit clubs, especially Scottish ones, underestimate the Eastern European clubs regularly. Just because they have never heard of them doesn't mean they are rubbish!!!

It was quite funny in Scotland listening to Archie McPherson who would almost swear down the mic when a decision went against Scotland or Celtic. And English commentators were called biased....

Eh?

Eh?

Easy now jock!! to be fair that incident of 1966 isnt mentioned that much is it. Just coz we go into a competition looking to win and you get the pilot to keep the meters running!!

ITV are sh*t

ITV are sh*t

Between the 7.30pm start time and the 8pm kick-off time ITV managed to fit in 4 advert breaks. From the time they came on air at 7.30 it was a mere 3 mins and 42 secs before the first one - sad I know but I wanted to see for myself after hearing something during their last televised game.
You can say what you like about the BBC licence fee and the money you have to fork out for Sky but they both produce extremely professional sports programmes with knowledgeable presenters.....
On the last England v Rep Ireland game we had Townsend on co-commentry (ex Rep Ireland player) and Roy Keane in the Studio - aren't we suppose to have Englishmen doing it during England games or is that too politically incorrect these days?

Far to many references to 1973 and the Clown last night. That was 40 years ago, I think the teams have moved on a bit since then. Do they have to wheel him out and show his face every time we play Poland?

surely there must be enough ex England players for commentating and punditing so the requirement for a Irish or Scotsman is not required, or have they all made to much money to be bothered
