Iconic albums-Dire Straits

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Can't decide between Santana's Abraxas and Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here. Both bring back memories of a much calmer time in my life.

Iconic and ground breaking. Never seen its like before or since.

War of the Worlds......indeed very cool.

Used to listen to it in the dark with my dad and my bro....on vinyl. Good memories. Still a brilliant score.....and Morgan Freeman was nowhere near as cool as Burton narrating!

First time I ever heard it was as a 10 year old, one dark and stormy night....the bit where he describes the Martians emerging even now sends a cold shiver down my spine...

Did we all used to change the words to "The chances - of a virgin - coming from bath - are a million to one, he said", or was it just me?

Brightened up the Uxbridge-Wales journey no end, as did my bright yellow Avenger!

Good to know there's another fan out there...but lets not talk about the remixed version...

There's loads of us Kryten!

Can't believe I didn't put this one alongside Iron Maiden!

Looking into getting tickets for the live show in December!:PDT_Xtremez_30:

Fantastic album and gets a good listening to every time I am onboard........

When I came home this time I went to get me hair cut and it was on the radio so I started humming and got asked if it was War of the World and I said yes, one of the best albums ever made, the woman said she didn't like it and went to turn it over....I said I LOVE IT...she kept it on....the customer is always right !!

Crack on.................:PDT_Xtremez_09:

P.S. Love Iron Maiden as well

More than one fan Kryten!!!!!

Another one here too. Apart from Burton, IMHO the greatest English accent ever! (From a Welshman ::D:)
Phil Lynnot and Julie Covington as the crazy preacher and his wife Beth. :PDT_Xtremez_14:

The whole thing is absolutely brilliant.

Another two of my all time Favourites....

An absolute classic. My dad introduced me to Queen through GH1 and I slowly built up my collection of all their albums. (Until some cnut stole most of them)

I remember getting this one and listening for ages on headphones, especially "The Prophet's Song"

I haven't listened to it for ages as it's on vinyl and I'm all "digital" now. Might have to consider an iTunes purchase.
