does anyone know if we are still able to take indulgence flights to canada, i only as because the chance has come up to marshal the canadian gp this year, normally the costs of the flights would make it a straight no but then i remembered seeing somewhere that there was a regular flight to somewhere in canada from brize and was curious as to whether or not it still runs?

Try the Yanks at Mildenhall, they used to fly into Goose most days of the week.

3 Mercian are off to BATUS soon. Might find there's some spare seats on flights if you ask around. Could try speaking to 24 Regt RLC at Bielefeld as they are controlling the BATUS moves at the moment.

[GV[/GV] there is a rafalo (raf mover) based out in Canada, don't know his contact details but if anyone will know the answer to your question he will.

There is a 3 man RAFLO det in Calgary, run by the Movements trade and also 2x movers based in St Johns.

Forget indulging to St Johns as its mainly C130, C17 passing through and these are non compliant with indulgence regs.

Calgary is the feeder airport for the Army training Ex held at BATUS, they handle military / charter flights all year but it is acknowledged they are busier from April until Nov. If you pick the correct dates or know a Mover whom can help you, then this could be a very good / cheap way to visit Canada. Current cost are about 160 GBP for round trip. Note there are no guarantees of seats, however I can assure you that 99% of time the Army overbid creating masses of flex in the system.

As to Montreal, that is half way between both destinations and I really think if you shopped about especially using Canadian Affair you may find a cheaper direct flight.

If you wish to consult the RAFLO then e mail draflo@rafcalgary.org

Good luck.
