Hello there, Well a weeks trolling and i figured I had to get rid of the intro message. Techy type from 88 to 97. Reason for joining, a mate thought the dark cynical humor might be appreciated, Most of my posts to feedback comments on the guardian website get removed. They really didn't like the JSP398 on the third night of the looting. Folks saying send in the army, I pasted the ROE. it didn't last 2 minutes.

No, it was using a Q code and describing yourself as a techie type.

I would hope that any ex TG11 would have the decency not to call themselves a "techy type" even after the advent of TG4:PDT_Xtremez_30:.

BTW, when were you in?

I did 88-97, was meant to do 12 years but decided to do 18 months notice instead. Too much fun to be had running around in the .com boom. Yourself? last tour at Locking?

Yep. I done GW1 and on my first day back on TCW was told to report to the Education Centre at Brize at 10:00 to give a presentation followed by an interview with a view to doing instructor duties at Locking. Naturally I told then to fcuk off due to lack of notice/presentation time so it was postponed till 14:00 to give me time to prepare my presentation.

Needless to say, I never prepared a presentation but went there and had a rant about the lack of communication in the RAF. To my horror, the panel president thought I done a great job and I was "offered" instruction duties.

After some thought, I accepted 2 days later and went to Locking as an instructor only to be told I was going to be a course designer. So, I was partially ressponsible for the El Tech Eng/El Eng Tech (or whatever it got called) course.

Got bored and in 1993 I got thouroughly ****ed off by a particual incident but luckily one month after gettng ****ed off, the RAF offered redundancy so banged out and spent 3 years tossing it off doing an degree in accountancy. At first I thought I had made a big mistake but once I qualified and got a couple of years experience, I wondered why I hadn't done it previously.

Checking your profile: a lot of my muckers were at 1001SU between 1989 and 1994.

Nice to see more ex 1001 wallers around.

94 - 97 D watch and 98-99 B Watch (was at O first then C)(Clearly i am not going to put full place names on here but you'll know where i mean) probably know both of you, i even spent a few weeks at 1SU R whilst covering a power out at O.

Every radio man worth his salt carried a battered (in my case) set of Dolphin codes somewhere on him...made a CASEX much more interesting.
