Are the any other goaters who, like me, cannot wait for the world cup to start? Five weeks of pure, unadulterated football coverage from the Worlds biggest and greates tournament. Just thinking about it makes me go all tingly; am I sad? Probably; but how can a sport that makes so many people this excited one minute and utterly miserable the next be a bad thing.

Obviously, I'll be supporting England and I'm just hoping that cometh the hour, cometh the man, Gerrard will deliver the performances of his life to lead our time as far as possible; there are better teams, but you never know.

There was a very real threat that i was going to miss the opener against the US because of a trip overseas...however, the subtle application of violence means that my trip sits nicely between England v USA, and England Algeria.

So, plan is to buy beer and stuff tomorrow, arrange the living room for optimal viewing pleasure, the get down on my knees and thank Lord Murdoch for HD TV!

Thanks for making that clear (I always thought it meant you were a shirt tail lifter)

I can't wait for it to start - less than 23 hours now!! As a Welshman i've got very little to look forward to you might say, but I will be supporting England and wish them all the best. Already worked out which games to Sky+, and all of a sudden i'm happy I only see the other half at weekends!! Well, she'd only get in the way of all the footie fun!

I have got butterfly's every time I think of the games. Serious question though, my Satalite provider has downloaded 3D as several Sat channels are showing it in 3D but I don't have th TV. Any Goaters out there watching it on 3D? That would be amazing.

It's Almost Time

Got all my shifts sorted for the England matches. Even those kind guys at sky have rearranged the saints v wigan match so it doesn't clash with England and Algeria. Will be in Egypt fir the ko stages. Working tonight sleep till just after dinner then into Liverpool to watch south Africa then get the train and watch saints v Huddersfield. In for 3 nights next week will be watching the games at work. A perfect 4 weeks ahead. What joy.
