How do you actually to reply to individual people when there is only quote buttons? Am I being totally stupid??? ha ha

If you dont want to quote someone, under the very last post, in line with the page counter, is a box that says 'new reply' just hit that then you can post without quoting.

About 1 and a half inches below the final message in the thread is a "new reply" button in the bottom left of your screen
