Greetings All.

Have recently joined and been perusing the site and making a couple of casual posts. Saw the intro's page and thought I should add my two penneth...

Joined 1985 - 7 weeks at the mighty Swinderbubble (included block leave!)
1985-86 L Tech AD training at the most missed Locking
1986-92 Spadeadam - great place. PMA lost me! Got time promotion as well!
1992-94 The most windy Saxa Vord.
1994-99 Buchan-sur-la-mer.
1999-2002 12SU Episkopi - sunny!
2002-05 Bentley Priory - was very quiet by then, but nice with it...
2005-07 Back to Spadeadam - yippee!
2007-now - the wonderful place that is Digby...

Done some tours down south at Alice and Kent, just one more at Byron to get the hat trick.

Loving TG4 - real good fun!:PDT_Xtremez_42: BTW can anyone tell me how I now tell the difference between a techie and a peanut. They're all wearing the same badges, they've all got the same size wallet... I notice we've all got that glazed look as well...:PDT_Xtremez_35:

Nice to be here. Will keep taking the tablets! :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Well, peanuts wear stable belts, chip hats, iron their rank slide up the middle, iron a bra strap seam across the back of their shirts and GP jackets - oh and they refer to seniors as "corps" "sarge" etc.

Frickin' weird.... it's not like we're in the military.... we're techies!

Ah!

Ah!

I was in 85. Wish I'd had the foresight to remuster...

Thanks for the clarification PVR, I must pay more attention!

Dilbert, if you were at Saxa 92 -94, then we must know each other, cos I was there from 92 -94.....

Welcome to the goat, I was also at Saxa during those days so probably will know you both!

What were you working on, the shiny new kit or the battered up old kit?

Saxa never had an R12, as it never had an '85. The DBU was in the R101, Mk8 displays, solartron video maps and cardion decoders. The rest of the place was ihabited with that new fangled ICCS and their coloured displays and fancy VACS computers.

Hah, Meekster!

I worked on the battered old kit that used to get switched off when it was too windy (well, 40 kts) until it was switched off for good. Then was general dogsbody for a while (we recatalogued the Radio Saxa Vord record (!) collection) then moved to Eng Co-ord for a few months before leaving...

Somebody loved me, 'coz they sent me to Buchan - same environment, just without the ferry journeys! :PDT_Xtremez_34:

We were always better than those 'shiny new kit' boys though... :PDT_Xtremez_32:
