Hi

Could any med types tell me what MLD (is it limted deployment?) means on a 657 (?) in relatoin to where a person could get OOA? There are a couple of limitations too eg no running..

Thanks all

Not sure if you have the access but there is a detailed breakdown of the new JMES stuff on the Manning homepage.

Having been picked up

Having been picked up on this the other day, bad skills, I found the DIN and now know that A G Z now relate to A (Air) L (Land) M (Maritime) E (Environments). and that there are markers such as MLD which if I remember rightly means Military Limited Deployment.

If you trawl through the A1 support site you'll find a definative answer although even when you know what it means you won't know what it means.

Medically limited deployability - or words to that effect.

It means someone has to think twice before sending you somewhere. Commonly it would mean not outside the UK (depending on your E factor), but could just mean only places like Al-Udeid, not Bastion or the Falklands (e.g. base area limitation).

The DIN generally explains it - the exact limitations are key.

thanks all; read the info today and as you say it depends on the E factor but also the limitations. So basically, drafter consults Med bods to see what they say..

cheers all
