Jpa app

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
They said that JPA was going to be made available on the net but that never materialised (Security BLAH BLAH BLAH. If the banks can do it.....Go figure).

Having it as an App.....you are havin' a giraffe ain't yer? Look at the security implications there.

Well bugger me just googled it.....

It appears to just repeat what you can find through JPA anyway, not an actual means to submitting a leave application / expense claim / PVR.

I thought as much....I mean, spend loads of dosh on an all doing PSF thingy and not being able to use it....Typical MOD lol.

Good job I'm out of it........ Sh!T hole.

That's because they never, and I assume still haven't, implemented SSL.

All your info sat insecure on an "insecure" network....

Speak English... SSL? Please, we are not all geeks.

My Mrs works a lot from home and she has no problems (Corporate Audit Work and banking..Hush Hush).

Bl))dy stupid that you can’t even put in leave passes and the like....Typical MOD

It stands for Secure Socket Layer. It's all to do with encryption of data and keeping webpages secure. Ever seen the wee padlock in the address bar is you use internet banking? It's part of that process.

SSL

SSL

They introduced SSL before I left that way my PVR was secure and between me and the desk......oh until the buffoon phoned the section and went blabbing about it to the first bloke to answer the phone. Hour later I had people asking me about it on Facebook!

Yer I've seen the "padlock" thingy, so why not do it? Banks and internet shopping can do it.....Amazon and the likes. What don't the MOD like about it, obviously millions of quid can be pinged about, why not a simple leave pass?

Probably down to the ability of a "hacker" of sufficient skill to route the entire forces payrun to their own off shore account, bounce it round the world to the caymans and frame some innocent RAF type.....

Not that I ever envisaged doing such a thing. :PDT_Xtremez_14:

This is true......However, it doesn't seem to be a common thing in light of the vast amounts of e-commerce that is going around us today, or is it all kept under wraps and is a secret?

The RAF/MOD spends vast amounts of our dosh on boll0cks (we have all seen it) and the like and are willing to fork out a couple of quid (not literally) on a top notch security system to make your lives that little bit more easy.

Why not just for leave apps and the low security sh1te?

Mr SCJ

I'd guess that another major reason for not giving access from your home might be:
Just imagine how many people might submit a PVR from home when pi**ed-up?

Why spend the money and take the risk when you can do your admin at work?
