JPA Preferences

I am fast approaching that glorious moment when i can be free from the TCW circus and all the clowns who perform there. I am in the process of updating my preferences, and have managed to select the required counties.

as an added extra i want to select the priority bt job, as he system allows, and i have two specific jobs in mind which i would love to do, but the problem is how the f*ck do you input a specific job into the box. i have tried doing it free text, and have tried searching too with the litle magnifying glass, i even went to HR and got told a load of bollox.

The ACOS manning site says i can request a specific post on my prefernces, but offer no advice on how to do it, i may have to start smashing things up in frustration soon, so any help would be most appreciated, you would be doing my SAC's and any mugs, plates and windows at work a great service if you could help me outDT_Xtremez_30:

As was told to me, you use the free text box for anything specific or not covered by the drop down boxes.

Have you tried doing a search with a percentage sign at the beginning and the end with just one specific word, eg, in my case %P1% or %Sqn Clk%? That might work. Or have you scrolled through all of the ones for the RAF till you have found what you need, eg, %RAF%.

If that dosen't work just write it in the comments boxes.

Can't quite remember how to do it but there are a lot of RAF|CIS|...........jobs which are fairly interesting.

Simply type RAF in the box, hit the search button and scroll down to you get to that section.

Failing that contact the camp for the job that you fancy and they should be able to tell you what it is.

For instance if you look on your JPA you will be down as 90SU|TCW|CIS Tech (or similar)

I had Wilts, Hants and Gtr London as my choices with M4 corridor preferred in the comments box, so got a posting 400 miles north........ hopefully you'll have more luck

BTW - Maybe the manning lists have the post number and description you might need, off the manning website.

JPA Preferences

As a techie, I am far from being a JPA expert...

IMHO, I would do the following:

Get the post information from the positions register on the CAOS Gapping web site.

On JPA, go to your Employee Preferences.
Select "Job" as the Preference Priority.
Choose the Job 1st Preference as per the positions register mentioned above e.g. RAF|CIS|IS Networks (I think this is the lowest detail you can get in this field).
Scroll down to comments and add all the information you want i.e the following bit of information from the positions register including the post number.

There should be no harm in contacting the (prospective) Unit and making some queries about the post. There's always the Chf Clk or Drafter route as well.

As for your chances of getting where you want... there's no guarantees - even when someone tells you there is... DT_Xtremez_42:
