Hi guys im moderately new to e-goat and have tried to search this subject but cant seem to find an answer so i will apologise now if this may have been asked else where.

Im traveling home from lossiemouth to the midlands in just over two weeks and have heard i can claim my petrol upto 15 days before my journey? Is this right?

Aslong as i have receipts will this be a problem?

Appreciate any help!
Cheers

Dan

I don't know the answer to your question, but that isn't going to stop me being sarcastic...

Unless you are travelling in the TARDIS, how do you propose having the receipts for a journey you haven't made yet?

Do you not have a PSF at Lossie? :S They might actually be able to answer your query. :PDT_Xtremez_15:

Because like many people i have the ability to plan further than 24 hours in advance! any way cheers for the help, i will have a chat with psf! :PDT_Xtremez_28:

I doubt they will because PSF don't know if you are actually going to do the journey or not. You may turn around and say that I am going to the midlands in 2 weeks and then not go. You have just commited fraud in that sense. Correct me if i am wrong.

Yeah you are very right in that sense! However if you did do the journey when you said you were as mine coincides with my booked block leave i would have receipts? If you didn't have receipts obviously you haven't a leg to stand on and deserve what ever they throw at you!

But in that situation you would tell PSF and they could cancel the claim or if paid take back the money?
Only if your an honest person tho!

I think PSF may be the way forward for this query.

If you were travelling by train then you might be able to but as you say petrol you must be using a car or bike? In that case you don't have receipts yet. You might have receipts for the fuel you've put in your car ready for the journey but this proves nothing more than that you've paid for the journeys you made prior to filling up. Therefore, the receipts you need are for the fuel you take on route (if needed) and when you get to your destination.

So in a nutshell, I would be very surprised if you'll get the money before hand. If you're skint, ask for an advance of pay. More importantly, ask PSF, that's their job and more importantly as they are on the higher pay-band they should earn it!

A serious question met with sarcasm and yet another (feeble) dig at shineys' imminent salary hike. There was a time when the goat was THE place to go if you wanted to know something...

Gabs, how long have you been serving? It sounds as though you are talking about Get You Home (Early Years) warrants which entitles all new joiners to a total of 12 return journeys from their unit to an eligible address during the first 3 years of service.

If that is the case, the full explanation of entitlements and how to claim can be found in JSP752 and the JPA business process guides, all available on the intranet (or from PSF if you want it in layman's terms!). In essence, however, you submit an application to make the journey through JPA before the event; once approved, you then submit a claim for reimbursement of costs after the journey has taken place.

That's great thank you very much! Ive been in just under two years and they are the warrants im talking about!

I will pop into psf tomorrow as im working nights at the moment! Hopefully they will be able to sort out my application for the journey!
Cheers again!
