Hello, I am due to join in July and my phase 2 training will take place at DMSTC at Keogh Barracks in Aldershot. I will be spending sometime here and all the info ive found on the internet is several years old but doesnt paint the place as very entertaining place! Can anyone shed any light on what life is like there? I know a fair bit about the actual training and course and just enquiring on how im going to keep myself occupied on the evenings etc!
Thanks

I'm not at Keogh but fairly close by (I run past Keogh most lunchtimes). I'm also not of the same age group as you so our tastes of entertainment will be different (I did my phase 2 training 25 years ago in Shawbury).

The area is fairly good. Easy access to London. Close to Keogh isn't much to write home about and Aldershot is Squadie central; but, if you have transport, there are some good nights out.

Not so much entertainment; but, if you're into running and/or mountain biking, the adjacent training areas are great.

Good luck with your course.

Thanks, i do go running a fair bit and do alot of weight training etc so if there is a gym thatll give me a couple hours worth of time each day for fitness work or going out for a run! Someone pm'ed me and told me the course's usually have a good ethos and ill have some good times with the tri service people all training there? Whats the accomadation like? As i say all reviews on net i can find are from a few years ago, can i get things like internet access so i can troll the internet in my boredom or play footy manager :PDT_Xtremez_30:
