So I'm going out of area next week and have had to put my kit into 'storage' because we have to give up our rooms.

The thing is, the storage provided is a locked room in our annex which has a nice big sign on it saying it's out of bounds by order of the Fire Officer.

I was thinking of finally getting round to insuring my stuff but I'm not sure anyone's gonna insure my kit if it's being kept in a building that is some kind of fire risk.

Also, considering the key is held by the civvy mess contract manager and there doesn't appear to be any formal system to sign it out, I'm not sure they'd cover me for theft anyway.

Gonna speak to the Admin warrant on thursday when I'm back in work, but if anyone has any advice it would be appreciated.
