I am an auggie looking to get some kit insurance for all the nice shiny stuff that Betty has let me take home. Bout a year after I should have got it!!!!

Google has given me Forces Plan, Forces Financial and Towergate Wilsons as starters. Anyone got any advice on them? Any experiences good or bad? Recommendations?

I use Towergate Wilson's as well; extremely easy to get a policy, but extremely difficult to get a claim settled. They're not far from asking me for a letter from my old headmaster!

Reviving an old thread because I lost my old AXA insurance when I moved bases about 3 year ago. I tried the Towergate Wilson right dress policy and was told I needed to get home contents insurance along with my Kit Insurance, er no and just tried with PAX jus there and got a quote for £120 per year, bit steep I think. Anyone else know of a good insurer for kit?

The only kit insurance I've ever needed is a box of jaffa cakes. Works wonders with the stackers in clothing stores when you need stuff replacing.

Its more Laptop, Phone, Wedding ring stuff like that. I'm not too fussed about the kit but saying that we travel Civvy a lot of the time and missing bags are the norm for them and a bergan full of kit is a canny lot of money to replace all the stuff. I know its not that big a thing but its always best to be covered.

I am not at work (it being a Saturday!) so don't have the JSP in front of me to check latest version of the regulations.

Don't forget to claim your insurance allowance on JPA. When I was on a Sqn the Auggies also qualified for it and it was worth around £40ish/year. Situation may have changed now as I'm talking about 18 months ago, still it will only take 5 minutes of your time to check!

Are you talking about athe Compensation for lost and damaged personal effects in JSP 752 ch 10 sect 4? I'm having a poke around but havn't found anything concrete with regards to Kit Insurance allowances.

I'm not in work this week so don't have access to the JSPs but it's called Insurance Allowance, should have it's own page outlining the rules - I'm not certain but you may need to have been warned for detachment to qualify. Let me know how you get on.
