Labour Legalising Murder

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Don’t remember this being in their Manifesto.

330 to 275 in the end.

Admittedly, and unusually I don’t have an opinion on this, so not too interested

However, with all the lying and crime being unearthed in the new grown up government, what crime will they legalise next?

It is a Private Members Bill, so it won't have been in any manifesto.

Suicide is not illegal.

Plenty enough tories voted in favour of it as well, including Rishi Sunak and Jezza Hunt. It was a free vote, so nothing to do with party lines. And for someone with no opinion on the topic, calling it legalised murder is a bit dramatic.

Busby gaslighting again. Give it a rest fella - your side lost the GE and this has the support across the whole house, with the exception of the Unionists in NI who would ban breathing if they could get away with it.

234 Labour MPs supported it. 147 didnt. 18 didnt vote for various reasons.
23 Tories supported it. 92 didnt. 3 didnt vote
61/72 Lib Dems supported it, although their leader was one of the 11 who didnt.
3/4 Plaid MPs supported it
3/5 reform MPs supported it
4/4 Green supported it
1 SDLP and 1 independent also supported it. 1 SDLP didnt vote. 14 independents didnt vote for it, including one of the single issue MPs who tried to bring the Israel war into his speech before being told to STFU.

SF and SNP all didnt vote.

Busby was right though, because as your figures show far more Labour MPs voted for it than from other parties. Oh hang on there might be a reason for that 🤣

Probably better looking at the ratios rather than the numbers, over 3:1 against it from the Tories and nearly 2:1 for it with Labour, not really interested in the other parties.

I’m guessing that a lot of those against it would have a strong religious beliefs.

Of all the things that need fixing in the world just now I wouldn’t see this as a priority, and whilst it was a free vote, Kier did make a promise to Esther.

Be interesting to see if the Lords let it pass, a group of individuals who are much closer to impact of this than the commons.

Agree the MP's in this part of the world are bunch of religious fanatics who would still be burning so called witches at the pole if they had their way. The surprise to me was Colm Eastwood who voted in favour. SF cannot vote as they don't take their seats (bunch of pricks). While it was a personal vote, they still represent their constituency and need to take that into consideration.

I think people are forgetting, if this all goes through and the planets align (so to speak) it will have gone through a number of legal hoops and be signed off by a doctor or something like that anyway. Ultimately it will be the individuals decision to do it.
