I listened to Phil Redmond on the radio this afternoon and have since spoken to a few people in the know and this is basically vagabond journalism.

It is common practice in the music world to get your money up front for a gig and this is put into what is called an escrow account, it is a sign of goodwill and a guarantee that the money to pay is available.

The 1.7 mil will be spent on the staging of the event, everything from bogroll to the stage which needs to be specially built and approved by the elfin safety mob. If you look closely at the money the spent on the Rolling Stones Rio gig (estimates of 7 million USD) it is not an unreasonable amount

McCartney is not taking one brass wazoo for this gig.

So what is the real story behind this. Well there is a bunfight going on between LibDems and Labour for control of the city in the upcoming local elections, and this was 'leaked' and then undeservedly sensationalised by somebody to discredit somebody else. Politicians eh? Biggest shower of sh!tebags on Gods green earth.

Jimps

PS If Macca does get his wheels knicked I can get him some dead cheap, ey ey calm down, calm down!
