Due to Ken Bates inactivity re. cash for players this season I get the feeling this was the plan all the time...A good segment of the debt wiped out and a cheap club to boot...Well done Ken you ******.

Just hope that he makes the best of it and gets the club back to where it belongs!:PDT_Xtremez_09:

Not entirely sure it is all Ken Bates' fault.

Take a look at the extravagant spending policies of the Ridsdale era (transfers, salaries, relocation packages etc) coupled with O'Leary spending money for fun. That's where the finger should be pointed. Anyone trying to pick up the pieces after that fiasco was on a hiding to nothing. Fair play for trying.

My team, Middlesbrough, went through it in 1986 and came out of it stronger. Promotions, Cup Finals both domestically and in Europe. You need the right people, local people, running the club. We are lucky to have a bloke like Steve Gibson.

There's not too much sympathy for Leeds, on the whole, but I, for one, wish them luck.

And where will that be - League 2?

As a Sunderland supporter, I'm sure that I speak on behalf of lots of non-Leeds fans to say how distraught we are to see that Leeds have been relegated - NOT!

i remember that old fans favourite that two opposing sdie will sing in unison:

leeds, leeds,leeds, and leeds,
we all fcukin hate leeds.

a once great club now ruined by throwing all there eggs in the chapions league basket.

hey ho never mind they will have the largest stadium in the conference in a couple of seasons!

And it will still cost £30-35 to get in...

Personally I think its quite a clever move going into administration today, unlike others in the past who have waited til the season was over. They were doomed to be relegated anyway so why not end up bottom of the table this season rather than starting -10 at the beginning of next!!

it's called cheating!!

they did it today so as not to start next season minus 10 points.... the whole idea of it is to stop teams going into administration willy nilly and to use it to their advantage.....

ie......... plummet out of the premier league after spending tons of cash on players during their stay....

then spend next season skint...so go into admin... start afresh... spend tons of cash to get back into premier greed........

it stinks and they should get it revoked until start of next season a la rotherham

It will make little difference to Leeds though, will it? Their Premiership parachute payments are ancient history, they are already relegated (in all but name) to League 1. All because they overspent under Ridsdale but didn't get the silverware which would have recouped their losses. The same could easily have happened to Chelsea under Abramovich.

Time for Leeds do cut their losses, start from scratch and fight their way back to the Premiership the hard way. They took a gamble and lost. It's just taken a while for the extent of their loss to hit home. They'll be back in due course just as Nottingham Forest have been doing.

I didn't say I agreed with what they had done just said that i thought it was quite clever!

i was generalising in how it works...............

i know they have stopped the premier league tap to leeds... but it has ramifications to other leagues too...

ps good luck tomorrow.....

pps think about it..... one of our teams misses out and they swan around like big time charlies next season... they have the fans to pay the money and their salary cap will differ from yours and ours.......

ps good luck tomorrow.....

Thanks, but I don't think we have a prayer. We have a tough match against Blackpool, while Oldham already relegated Chesterfield. We need Oldham to draw or lose to sneak into the play-offs, I just don't see it happening. Fact is we gave away too many easy points early in the season. Hey ho, we will be a Championship side one day, I just don't think it will be under Kenny Jackett's leadership.

sort of proves my 'pps' about leeds doesnt it??? imagine missing out again cause they are splashing the cash about..????

ps .... i cant believe how b/pool have sneaked that? but i never believe that you should kick someone whilst they're down.... we thought that at crewe, brighton gave us a run for our money (how far away is that pitch?? glad it was sunny!)...... we'll see what 5pm tomorrow brings eh???

Look on the bright side Leeds were the last club to win the 1st Division before it was renamed the Premiership and now they have another chance to win league 1 - sorted. :PDT_Xtremez_28:

Who says they are going to win TB, with Dennis Wise at the helm I think they could go down even further.

Soon they will be able to get all of the Leeds supporters in a taxi, but that won't include Wise as he is banned from taxi's - something to do with attacking the driver for laughing when Wise told hm he was a professional footballer!
