Just asking is anyone could give me some advice refrence a few things Im chasing at moment.
I am off to sunny regions yet again and now im a loved up co living with my lass and we have joint house/finances was wondering a few things.

Today I went for life cover should the unfortunate happened, I got some cover was reasonable but been told I will be hammered with extras because I am going to middle east. Can we claim back extras incurred cause thats the area we are off to ?

Secondly when i joined up most the insurance policies I signed up were for payment to NOK on death (at that time my mom), now I am on a pensionable agreement 17 years completed If i should peg it would my partner (n ot married but civil relationship) be entitled to anything ? I just ask as the guy that deals with all RAF stuff up here in Elgin says I should change my Nomination of Beneficiaries . I been silly cause most of this stuff I have been blind too only now I have the lass have i chased this up. With no PSF and everything done now on JPA where do i start and most importantly who can I ask that cares rather than getting tfobbed off only to be told call this JPA number . The RAF does not even give details how to change these things.

I just contacted solicitor and they drawing up a will and they do say that should supersede anything now as all my estate goes to the missus and vice versa.

My fault for leaving all to last minute but where to go for help refrence RAF matters would be help enough

thanks in advance

Dunno if you've looked at PAX Insurance or not - it was conceived many years ago specifically to cater for HM Forces so takes into account war zones, etc. When I did the Finance briefing during resettlement earlier this year the bloke reckoned that it's a very, very good package and advised people to carry on with it when they leave the mob 'cos the benefits are so good. I should think that PSF/HR Admin/whatever its called now will have the application forms/package.

Yeah thanks The Wahl , I went through an independent advisor who dealt with my mortgage and all that and recomended Prudential ,only reason was he had a case a few years back of a person that was lost in an accident over the gan :/, he said that within days of this happening the company had paid out and were fantastic , he rates them extremely highly and they sorted everything. I like the sound of companies that do that and from also word of mouth , I have seen that PAX thing though they did doo leaflets , I will see what benefits I am covered by when I get it through door but im looking at £20 max per month for coverage up to 150k should I peg it. I have a few more months before I can claim as being a non smoker and get a highly reduced package including terminal illness and all that insurance that covers the mortgage should i still be alive but unable to work. Critical illness cover I think they call it.

Well it would seem most insurance companies will only give you life insurance to cover your mortgage only :/ only cause im going to hot and sandy place. I have taken it out and will pay the mortgage off should i peg it , but when i get back I have been told to re do it as im not on immediate then to go out I will get full cover , Key to this is take out insurance well in advance before you go out nopt at last minute as you struggle to get a fair deal.

Well got my quote today for life insurance for me only going to gulf , £43 per month for 2 years then £9 after that, thats not like accident/critical any of that just plain life insurance only cause im off to sothern gulf state for a while with the military Im hammered an extra £30 a month ? too late for PAX insurance for me and all that but Im a loaded techie for 2 months ill do it then get another policy ,worrying though that UK insurers scared to touch people that fight for there right to live and work without terrorism. Osama bin Laden everyday is acheiving what he set out to do and is succeeding. We have a government that does not see what is going on. I just angry and ****ed off im going to have another Strongbow and get drunk enough so i cant type anymore on here

Insurance companies have a good hard look , c****

Have you made a Will?

If you haven't - ALL your earnings and any payments are likely to go to your Mom - not to your partner/kids.

If you can't do things like marriage and you have a long time partner, at least do the legal right thing and make a Will.

Go to your Gen Office or whatever its called and ask there.

A short, sharp shock is not what anyone wants... but a Double Whammy is insufferable and unnecessary.

Thanks Rigga yeah matey I done that for free with Solicitors ,you are 100% spot on though all estate will go to likely mum or parents if you peg it unless you request your estate to go to your partner. Wise thing to do especially as i have heard of a few stories of people passing on and familys fighting estates for partners especially not married ones.

I out here now and its likea holiday camp but Im just wondering can I claim back any penalty fees for my insurance (excess cause im in the military would be better word) as its not my fault I cannot get life insurance because im in a hot place . Anyone got any ideas as im trying to chase from OOA but as usual people not really know enough to help , I love dobbers :PDT_Xtremez_19:

You may be entitled to a refund of the extra loading that your Insurance company has put on your Policy due to your service in the sunny places. Have a word with your friendly clerks and get them to dig out JSP 752 Chapter 10, Section 6 para 10.0604 (h). Although SRIPS is normally only for certain trades, it is specific in that you can claim - with authority from the PACC - for service on Ops. Your clerks should be able to help you put together the case. Hope this is helpful.
