Los 32

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Probably the blandest carrot you will ever see! now if they were offering a retension to stay in i might stop looking at the pension calculator.

I heard that the NEM is introducing no pay rises for newly promoted C/Ts from Apr 15 for the 1st 2 years. I wonder if the extension is anything to do with that.

I'm pretty sure remaining on the lower pay increment is the same across the board. They've also removed/will be removing the top increment of each rank. Funnily enough isn't the pension worked out from your average wage......that just got lower!

A serious question to those on LOS 30 who have passed their 22 year point:

Why do you stay?

New job that I actually like.

Free socks.

Money for old rope.

Why do you stay?

Cos I'm in Cyprus. I still like being in the RAF, still like the job, and I can't afford not to work. So I think, if I've got to work, then why not do a job I like, rather than bin it and do something I might hate. I'm not bothered about being loaded, as long as I've enough cash to live on I'm happy. I've seen loads of people leave, get a massive pay rise, and moan like fcuk about their new job and be miserable.

That's why I stay, and I'll be signing onto LOS 32 and whatever other extension of service is offered after that. The day I start dreading coming to work, and hate the job is the day I'll PVR.

As above.

There some **** management decisions that sometimes grip me (as Mutty knows all about ;)) but at the minute i am loving my job and have done for the past 4 years. I have been to places i would normally never get to and stayed in some very plush accom to boot.

Also, the RAF are giving me time to do personal study as well as giving me their own courses where some are civvy accredited.

The money side keeps me ticking over and allows some saving to be done, even though i could probably earn more outside. I am also pension trapped for the next 12 months!

But as above, when i am moved hundreds of miles from my family, or the the day i start to hate going to the office is the day i will consider all options!
