Hi all

My daughter has been pi$$ing about on her laptop and has lost/forgotten her password to log-in to Windows.

Any ideas how to get into the computer without having to going into PC World and shelling out a wad of cash for some spotty geek to do the job?

Cheers

Have you tried booting it in safe mode, as you switch on the laptop start tapping the <F8> key, it should allow you to select the administrator account and change the password.

Worked with XP

OPening in safe mode used to work with XP, not had to use it with 7 yet.

XP was easy, press ctrl + alt + del and you get the admin entrance. They removed it from Vista onwards so you have to reboot into safe mode.

If you reset your password and you have encrypted any of your folders / drives using windows, you may find you no longer have access.
