Is it true that when the shineys go from low to high they simply move straight across? ie if they are say level 7 sgt on low they go to level 7 sgt on high or do they get a % rise? just wondering with no intention of starting yet another debate on the lucky sods !!

Just thought, if lucky enough to be getting promoted around the same time they would get 2% rounded up to next level and them move across in april - what a cracking pay rise that could will be.:0

That is what has happened to other trades when they got rebanded. Looks like a average pay rise of about 3k.

Had a little look at the pay scales and was interested/amused/jealous but most significantly amazed to see that, for example a Level 5 FS moving from low to high is about to receive a 12.4% pay rise! As pointed out in first post this does not even include the annual pay rise or any increments due.

Yeah, I think jealous describes it best!!

Or you could say that he is currently and has been underpaid by 12.4%.

But that would be grumbling about how sweet the ambrosia is....

About the same rise for me, cannot wait, and it'll be even better if we get a inflation based rise as well.

Really looking forward to me and Mrs mwd being the Posh & Becks of Cottesmore - she gets a pay rise wef 1 Jan too!

(From £6 per hour to £6.25 for her 12 hour week).

Hey Hey, I Wanna be a rock star!!

I am going to Cottesmore from down south so I can spend the pay rise and it can go a little further I hope.....he he

I am promoted too so just waiting to know the annual rise which I have heard could be 3%, if it is then it's over a 7K pay rise for me :PDT_Xtremez_30:

So when the wife can get off her shimmeringbottom and get a job I might be able to challenge your P & B status!! he he

Anyway, wots Cottesmore like?

Hang on - going from low to high and a promotion? Sure it's going to happen?

Friend of mine who was an SAC(T) on Level 7 higher band applied for (and got) his SPAR and ended up LOSING money because they put him on a Cpl Lower band pay rate!

Still waiting for my pay to settle down before I know exactly what I get paid properly.

I think you may find it settling UP rather than down, if you know what I mean.

I would have thought they moved into the high pay band but the nearest to 2% above what they get now , thats the way we all moved to Pay 2000 and many of us has to take only a small pay increase as we we were at top level anyway with increments, I think its very very wrong how people can all of a sudden due to not enough people joining up get a 12% pay rise when they do nothing to earn such a pay rise ? after all we all been told its not due to work effort its down to retention.

If somebody gets a 12% pay rise then I will be the first to go all the way and ask why for some and not for others.

Well they are just like all the MTD's did last year (Cpls&WO)

The move over to Pay 2000 was you just moved to the pay band that was closest to your current one without taking a drop in pay. I would imagine that is the way it will work here as well. So if you are currently on pay band 7 and the new pay band closest is pay band 2 then that is where you move to. No 2% pay rise except on promotion.

BTW when I transferred to Pay 2000 my salary increased by 1p per day and as I was promoted in March I had to wait 50 weeks for my first increment to level 6 despite having been in rank for over 8 years.

I am afraid thats not hows going to work chap, If you are a clerk on level 7 lower you will go over to level 7 higher!

When we all transfered over to pay 2000 it was all for a different reason. Its the way the cookie crumbles.

Nice one, I've been marking time on SAC level 9 low for the last 2 years, just came off the last board in Dec and I'll be getting posted in September. Looks like I'll be getting a nice pay increase when they move me over to level 9 high in April, then skip the first 2 levels of Cpl high pay in September, then put in my 2nd career AIP.

Low pay SAC to level 4 High Cpl pay in the space of 5 months.

things like this don't really happen do they?
