Well thank god we finally conceded a goal, i was getting bored of all the sky sports news readers going on about it and not mentioning our 11 back to back victories!

But can we really win all 5??

No doubt we have the squad, our strength in depth is by far the best, as last night showed we have the ability to fight till the end and win "ugly" which is the hallmark of champions!

Aslong as we win the League and prevent Liverpool winning it another year it should be counted as a good year! As Fergie said when he joined Man United all those years ago: "its all about beating Liverpools League Titles record".:PDT_Xtremez_28:

Was at OT for the Everton game, and as you say we showed the ability to grind out results. I personally don't think we will do the lot. As Fergie says, all it takes is for the ball to bounce in off someones arrse and suddenly we've lost.

As was the same last season when a penalty in the FA Cup Semis cost us the chance to repeat the treble of '99!

I was at the 'boro game in december and much like the everton game they were able to grind out a result without hitting top form, unlike liverpool who cant hit top form anyway!:PDT_Xtremez_15:

Just hope we dont do a Barca and throw away a 10 point lead:PDT_Xtremez_42:

When that goal went in from Newcastle, I thought to myself "Here we go again, time to throw it all away".

Thank god for Rooney's brilliance to lift spirits.

And a cheeky little deflection:PDT_Xtremez_15:

...but luck has to be on our side if we're going to win this league!

Sorry to be a pedant but surely it will be a sextuple?

  • Community Shield (10/08/08 beat Portsmouth 3-1 on pens)
  • Intercontinental Club Cup (21/12/08 beat Liga de Quito 1-0)
  • League Cup (1/3/09 beat Spurs 4-1 on pens)
  • FA Cup
  • Premier League
  • Champions League
I would hate it to happen being a City fan, but the way they are playing I think they will do it (and I really hate saying this) and deserve to.

Community Shield ive been told is not part of the domestic season, more a pre-season thing, thats why its not counted!:PDT_Xtremez_28:

And the lack of Liverpool fans isn't a surprise: Their team was 2 points clear at the top at one stage and are now 3rd:PDT_Xtremez_19: So they dont have much to argue with!

I even had a Liverpool fan admit that Man United were the best team in the country at the weekend!:PDT_Xtremez_30:

This thread is amazingly short of Liverpool fans.

Apart from the odd Toffees fan, a Derby fan and me there are no fans on here just pot hunting wannabe mancs.

Obviously if any of you misguided lot originate from with 20 miles of OT the last bit won't apply.

Went to the FA cup game on Saturday, but had to sit in the Fulham end. The home fans could not believe our movement and forward play, (even at 4-0 we still wanted more goals, when alot of other sides would have shut up shop at 1-0), behind me a lad said to his dad "why is it that every time Fulham have the ball and attack it looks like it will be United and not us who will score"
Being a long standing Red (and footballer) it never ceases to amaze me how much pleasure you get watching a quality United squad / team go through it's paces, but ever the pessimist it will go pear shaped somewhere this season and 6 trophies are there for the taking, but unlikely.

To be honest if they were playing footy in my back garden I would close the curtains.

It gives me pleasure to watch any great footballing side, Brazil of the 70's (yes football before the PL), Liverpool of the 80's (through gritted teeth) and now us.
But your dead right there gemarriott I can afford to be a "pompous arrogant TW@T" I rather take it as a compliment. Sorry mate, but calling me pompous when you quote Shakespeare! I think I have just come across one of those retards you were on about earlier!

Ps Watch your knuckles on the ground now!
