Hi there, Im currently living in my own house and commute to work everyday so i claim HTD.

Ive just found out that Im posted to another RAF camp which is a bit to far to commute to so will have to live in the block in the week and travel home at weekends. The wife and kids will still live in our house.

Can anyone tell me what i can claim for and if i have to pay for both food and accommodation at my new unit??

new unit is 91 miles from my house.

I would ask my unit hr but im on POL from the falklands and to be fair I think i will get a better answer off here.

cheers

Unless the rules have changed since I did it last, I only paid abated food charges and accom was free. Which was a brucie bonus as the food was ace and so were the puddings, so an extra 30 mins in the gym squared that away.

OP:

GYH at 90 miles. JSP752 (via RAFCOM) will give you the daily rate which will be paid to you throughout your tour. You will need to provide some proof of ownership to your new unit - again JSP 752 lists what documentation you need to provide.

Free Accom. But you must continue to pay council tax for your private property, so dont go trying for a 25% discount as you'll then lose your right to GYH!

You will pay food. But remember to submit a leave application for every weekend on JPA and you will be £8 a week better off!

Food no longer abated so make sure you do what MWD says about leave!

I live in my own home with my partner - we are not married but have been together for 10 years (just to be clear, its a male/female relationship).

If I am posted to a station that is not daily commutable, I think I'm right in saying that I wil pay for accommodation. However, since I have a camper van and large awning, is there anything to stop me parking up on camp and living in that during the week and using mess facilities for washing/watching T.V and eating PAYD?

I'm sure hierarchy will not be best pleased, but since they discriminate against those of us who are not married (but common lawed etc), then I feel justified in being the station Pikey...! If staish objects, I could park outside main gate on public land.
