hiya medic types

i have been downgraded since may 07 (insert the gags as you wish here...) so am close to the 18 month point now is a med board automatic after 18 months? sorry my med cat is a4g3z1.

i have only got til sept 09 left in the farce and have been told it is unlikely that i will be upgraded as i am possibly having another operation to repair a troublesome tendon in my foot later this year will know for sure at the end of next month. I have been also been told that i will not be medically discharged if i am still still recovering/knackered at my discharge date instead i will be given an admin discharge for medical reasons..! is that actually for real as its attributable to service and was worsened by service as well...

anyone have any views on this or info i would be happy to hear them as i feel a little shafted that i could leave with nothing

hi there

mr masher thanks for the response.

do you or any other goaters out there know of anywhere i can read up on discharge proceedures the hows the whys and what not so that i have a better idea what awaits me...

also how is the med board process initiated is it done by me or is it somethng the medical centre initiate and i just get notifacation?

i truely am in the wilderness and have no idea whta is going on so i am counting on the guys/girls in here really to help me understand what is awaiting me and who are the best people to go to for help and guidance through this time

i really appreciate the responses so far on my other threads too

thanks

whlst I do not wish to appear to be harsh, and truly appreiciate your invidious situation, you have posted a very similar thread elsewhere. In that thread I gave you some advice and, modesty aside, there is an outside chance that I might know what I am talking about. Can I once more suggest you visit PSF and ask the Chf Clk the gen in regard to medical discharge and the SMC Practice Manager for the Med board process. It is quite straightforward and readily available via Intranet too.

hiya

i have only posted this here as i wanted to target people in the medical proffession it is not an attempt to waste peoples time

i appreciate your advise and am acting on it as well

thanks for helping

Would appreciate where it is on Intranet as I have been searching all morning.
I need to have my ducks in row as I about to boarded at Henlow.

Many thanks.

For starters try AP3392 Vol 2 Lft 1410 and QR 531 & 607(10)(ii). Apologies for hijacking the Medics thread, am skulking back to the Shiney page now.

hey there people

may i once again pass on my thanks for all the info you have supplied and the advice you have so far given in my 2 threads on this topic... may i just explain why i have posted it twice its not to annoy people or disregard peoples info in one or anything remotely close to it when i did the first i didn;t realise there was a medical forum catergory and i thought that i would get some more responses from medics about the med board process...

i'm going to see the med boards people tomorrow as tomorrow is a rae occassion when i will actually be in work! and have the afternoon free for once as well... i'm also going to see the resettlement staff and try and get a word with the chief clerk as well to talk about my main concerns... which aren't really whether or not i can be signed its more a concern that if i have further surgery and leave the farce still on cruthes and plaster cast or still ubable to work and require rehabilitation to recover fully from the operation... like i have said at present the story i have been given so far is that if i have the op or not on the 13th sept 09 i'm out on a routine discharge for medical reasons..i.e no payout, no med pension, no nothing.!!! which is not really gonna help me out much if i am unable to work and still have a hefty mortgage and missus to run.!!

i will post again tomorrow evening to let you know what i find out in the hope that it might help others in the same situation as i find myself in.

wish me luck
