Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice? I was given a med discharge on the 1st Jan 16 and I have not been tiered.
I haven't heard anything and I can't talk to anyone in pensions as I can't get a number for them.

Are there any scenarios where I wouldn't get a tiering on a med discharge. I'm not able to work as i am still receiving treatment and
I'm worried that I'm going to be in some serious financial difficulties very soon.

Any advice going would be brilliant because I can't seem to get a clear answer from anyone.

Cheers,

MM

First and foremost and I cannot stress this enough, you need to get advice from the RBL, RAFA, SSAFA and so on and do it first thing on Monday or online NOW!

Secondly and it's a bitter pill to swallow, but your loyalty to the RAF has to stop now because after all, they are dumping you out on your ar$e and could not give a stuff about you. They just want rid.

Thirdly, there will be a little band of faceless, chinless wonders in an office somewhere working out how little they can get away with giving you.

Get the boxing gloves on and get as many people fighting your corner to help take the stress out of a life changing process. As for not getting a clear answer from anyone, it seems that not much has changed in the past 15 years since I was MD'd.

If you need help or suppport with any of this, I will personally step up to the mark and assist you through things.

Best Regards,

TW

Agree with the above, the system will now challenge everything they can, get some assistance from as many people you can and don't trust a word they say.

A key thing to remember is that the condition may not have been caused by your service, but, the treatment or lack of it may have made it worse.

Good luck, get well soon.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. Just found out that I'm not entitled to any help as I was discharged non invalidity.

Not surprised as DCMH BZN refused to diagnose my condition for nearly 2 years.

Since been diagnosed with a serious mental health condition and I'm not sure I'll be able to work properly again.

Frustrating as I knew what DCMH were doing, got my medical notes to check them and they are full of lies, they never mention the causes and what happened to me.

Has anyone else been through the same thing? Seems like DCMH exist to deny liability and refuse treatment.

I don't really know what to do now as I'm going to lose my car, default on payments and it seems like they have deliberately with eld information. No one said that I would not get tiered for non invalidity!

Feel totally dejected :(

They will be ass covering to some degree, if your symptoms are recorded and it is obvious that you had a condition that they failed to recognise, therefore making your condition worse, you might have a chance.

It'll be hard and you'll probably end up in a tribunal but it will be worth it in the end.

It will be an uphill as you don't have an official diagnosis from the Service and officialy recognised as caused by the Service. However, don't think you are alone and don't do this alone - TW hit the nail on the head straight away, get the RBL on your case asap!

The Service will continue to deny all legal wrong doing in the hop eyou will go away - speak to the RBL and they will tell you if they think you have a case. Also, have a read of this:

http://www.arrse.co.uk/community/threads/diagnosed-with-ptsd-what-do-i-do-now.149532/

(i know they had a diagnosis, but it shows how the RBL assisted and that it wasn't a quick process!)

Great advice guys. Been in touch with someone from RAFA who has been superb. Seems like I have been given non invaliding despite the med board outcome.

Going to challenge my mode of exit and see what happens. Thanks again

Well done MM.

RAFA are great but could you go for a multi agency approach by using the combined knowledge of the ex service and support organisations?

The rationale being that when people are are medically, psychologically or physically injured, be it on or off duty, the way that they are treated by the RAF is nothing short of FCUKING DISGUSTING. So the more ammo you have, with combined agencies behind you, the better your outcome will be.

Best of luck to you.
