Medical Query - Flight Operations Officer

I'm currently a mature student (24), worked in civilian flight planning & operations for 5 years before being made redundant and starting a degree, looking to go down the Flight Ops Officer route after graduation, however I have a medical PUA from the Navy after being selected for Aircrew Officer Training, but then being unallowed to start IOT at Dartmouth as I have tinnitus on my medical records. I've completed hearing & function tests with one of the UK's leading hearing specialists showing I still have fully functional hearing, and I don't believe the conditions inhibits me.

I haven't been able to get a definite answer on whether this will be a barrier to entry, so would anyone here have a definite answer, or should I start the ball rolling and wait until the medical phase to see if I can continue?

The best thing you can do is take a copy of all records to do with this issue to your nearest AFCO and ask them to speak to Occ Med at Cranwell. If it transpires that there won't be a problem then you should get the green light to apply. If it does create a problem, then at least you'll know and will be spared the disappointment of going to OASC and finding out there.

Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, I'll take my documents up next week hopefully. Do you know how the Ops Officer role is likely to run in terms of recruitment this year?
