I know that the venues are sold out for Metallica's current tour, but for those of you who are thinking of digging deep into your wallets and buying a ticket on ebay - Just do it. Saw them last night at the Birmingham LG Arena and they were F....ng Awesome - just over 2 hours of musical brilliance. AC/DC in 4 weeks - can't wait.
 
Did they play the show 'in the round' (stage in the middle)?

I saw them on the launch show for the new album at the O2 Arena (£5 per ticket) and they were brilliant, but prefered them at Download a couple of years back when they played the whole of the Master of Puppets album.
 
They did play "in the round" and it was the first time I had seen them. Only went because my boys wanted to go and they are both big Metallica fans. It made my night when they did a cover of Black Sabbath - Hole in the Sky as one of the encore songs. I've done loads of concerts over the years and this was up there with the best I've seen.
