Hi,

Just asking for a friend, does anyone here know the min length of service you can sign on for in the RAF Police (not officer)? The site says usual service 9 years, but not sure if thats min. Cheers, jamie.

Ok thanks for that Fomz. Does that mean you are stuck to that role, or in the 9 years (once 21 or above) could you apply for a commission (qualifications permitting) as RAF Police Officer? Thanks.

It's not forever

It's not forever

You'll sign on for 9 years but on a Notice Engagement. This means you have a right to put your notice in as long as you complete your minimum return of service, which is normally 3 years after your trade training.

So if you're joining as a copper and you don't spend too long on holding and pass all your courses first time then your minimum length of service will be about 3 years and 9 months.
