Hi there, have any goaters taken the Modern Language Aptitude Test (MLAT) recently? I'm thinking of taking it and would like to hear your thoughts/experiences.

I've searched and there are a few old posts around, but any extra info is always helpful..!

Cheers.

I sat the MLAT a few years ago, but the test doesn't change.

Basically you are taught some numbers in a fictional language and you have to remember and reproduce them. You are aslo given some random words to remember and their meaning which you have to reproduce later.

There are also some grammar type questions.

Sorry if this sounds vague, but its something that you will either be able to do or not :PDT_Xtremez_17:

The clue is in the title - APTITUDE test, ie you either have it or you haven't. There's very little you can do to prepare for it, apart from maybe get a KS 2/3 English from the library and bone up on basic grammar.
