Not at work at the moment so can anybody help regarding MMA on posting.....

1. Can I claim MMA for travelling to the march in and Can I also claim for my final drive to the new qtr? Or is it 1 lot of MMA only?

2. I'm sure somewhere in the past someone mentioned MMA can be claimed to visit the qtr prior to move? I am imagining this?

3. Am I right in thinking I can claim MMA for the spouse. Pretty sure I did last time.

Cheers folks!

If you have 2 cars to bring down (or up etc) then yes, put a claim in for both. Only yourself and your spouse though.

Bit of a necropost this but I was looking in the JSP 752 Chapter 4 with regards to visiting an SFA offer and can only find you can claim for SSFA. Here 04.1112.

Does this mean they expect you to pay to go and visit a quarter you have been allocated to see if it's suitable (whether or not it has damp etc...?)

Not that I'd ever expect DIO to offer a quarter that has these problems.

That seems a bit off.

As far as I'm aware, you don't get to see the inside until march-in/move-in or whatever you call it.

That's usually when the removal van is turning into the estate and you have little choice but to accept what you are given!

Seriously, use some of your disturbance to go and have a look externally, check out the local area and peek through windows. Saved me a world of hurt last time - house was tiny, estate was a shambles and interior was a mess. Refused instantly and eventually got a really nice 3 bed with garage elsewhere. The gamble isnt worth it. Worse case scenario is you drive down and like it - at least you can have a drive around the local area and find your bearings. Best of luck either way.

Trusty

Sound advice.

I was always going to go and have a look but I figured there would be at least some sort of mileage payment due to the fact it's a massive part of being posted and you could end up in a complete nightmare home.

It shouldn't surprise me the way allowances are these days though.
