Money worries for Southampton

  • Following weeks of work, the E-GOAT team are delighted to present to you a new look to the forums with plenty of new features. Take a look around and see what you think!
Ive been expecting to hear news like this for quite a while now. Those to$$ers in the boardroom have effectively killed the club I have followed for the last 36 years.

Reading todays paper seems Luton and others are watching developments closely. The impression given by Saints is that it's only the holding company that has gone into administration and therefore the football club is unafffected. This approach would seem to be a try at finding a loophole through the 10 point admin penalty system imposed by the FA on clubs in difficulty. Interesting times ahead not just for Saints fans but for Rotherham, Bournemounth and Luton followers.

Saints going down, but the FA have found novel way of imposing the 10 point penalty. If they get enough points to stay in the championship (highly unlikely) then the 10 points will be deducted this season ensuring they do indeed go down. If they don't get enough points to stay up and are relegated then the 10 point penalty will be imposed at the start of next season in league 1.

Quite right too...they had the chance to go into administration in early March but with no penalty...

Trying to be to clever for their own good...at least they can enjoy the local derby against swindon town...

I look forward to the Clarets relegating them on Saturday thus ensuring you're -10 points at the start of next season.

Rules is rules!

Its unfortunate but "rules is rules"
The people who will suffer, the fans, have nothing to do with it though.

Leeds got penalised twice, with a 10 and 15 pont deduction. I think the FA are waiting out as the 10 points were only taken from Leeds oce already relagated. Thats a moot point anyway considering the 15 unfairly taken the next season! The FA are a bunch of cnuts.

I had a hilarious conversation with a mate at work who actually believes the club isn't in adminstration because it's the holding company not the actual club....talk about a play on words..

Jeff Stelling to Matt Le Tisser Sky soccer Saturday.

"Strange weather on the south coast Matt normal spring temperatures in Portsmouth yet it's minus 10 in Southampton."

......but, yet again, the idiots who've caused this mess walk away without any penalties at all, leaving the fans saddled with this mess.
Rules is rules but rules should change adding a bit of personal responsibility to the directors and club officials, maybe a financial penalty of some sort or making them take a points deduction to their next club.
That would make their next club think twice about employing them.

Trouble is technically in a court of law hes right, but ethnically...................hes right fook the lord of the league
