Having helped a few Goaters with problems in the past, and seeing as how we all get annoyed with our lovely computers sometimes, I thought I'd start a PC Clinic.

Any problems with your least favourite household item, post here, whether they be hardware or software related. If I can't help/don't know, I'll point you in the right direction and/or run a mile.

Regards

Now that is a very mature engineering approach! Typical!

I have a genuine question (note not a query!).

My IE7 looses all its memorised logon and password info, e.g. I have to type in my E-Goat user name and password every time I log on despite having ticked the "remember" box.

Gizza clue.

It also will not let me change my location on the BBC weather info page. I'm stuck in central London and want to be in Waterlooville!

Your sensible response will be much appriciated (... and I guess the stupid ones I can hear being typed now!) :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Hu, I always thought you had fingers like pigs t1ts but I can see that with your beautifully manicured nails, it can't have been you bashing that poor keyboard to bits....

No quite right Den - I was bashing something else in and her hanging onto the keyboard for dear life caused the buttons to fall off

I can help on this one, dont clear your cookies. They are what holds your passwords and all other remembered settings like your location on BBC, so when you clear your cookies, history and IE files to try and hide your deviant porn watching nature (good lad) then you clear everything you wanted to keep

There is a program out there called RoboForm (i think) which will save all your passwords for you

Considering that there are many people here who are always willing to give PC advice to anybody who asks, what is the point of having this thread?
It has already gone wildly off topic, so i'm going to lock it.

If you do have PC problems and want help via these forums then start a new thread here. Not only does it then allow all your fellow goaters to give you advice, but it also means that if somebody has a similar problem they may see the title of the thread that has the answer rather than having to trawl through a massive post in the hope that it has already been asked.
