Hi there. Could any body tell me if there is a team in Scotland, if so, how you apply, what the pre requisites are and a bit about the job. I've been in the RAF 16 years, got various qualifications in AT and FD, done a multitude of jobs both in and out of trade and I fancy doing something completely different. Many thanks, PF

I did it until 3 years ago, the team in Scotland became one SNCO. Keep an eye on the manning volunteers website, they advertise in there. I think they have a JNCO as well. It's a great job but it's a lot of hours if you do it properly. I regularly did twelve or thirteen hour days. I didn't mind though because I loved the job. I was gutted when my post was disestablished. I'm in work but if you PM any questions I'll try and answer them later.

MOT (indeed anything in the recruiting area) is one of the RAF's best kept secrets and I'm astounded as to why more people don't take it up. Sure it's hard work and by the end of the school year, you're knackered (but hey, here comes airshow season...winner!) but as Joe says, it's a job that's hard not to love.
