I have done only 6 months in post and now it seems that my post is up for the chop!

I know of another guy on camp who has got his redundancy and I was thinking of approaching my boss and asking to be moved sidewards.

Just wondered if that seems a reasonable request and whether I have to approach my career manager should she agree with my request? If so, when could I possibly move? Just worried that my post will be chopped sharpish and the other guy is not out until 1 March (I think).

If it's a no go am I then at the mercy of the career manager or would I get any priority?

(also thinking of PVR so this may persuade me either way!)

As an ex-drafter I would have snapped your hand off if you met the criteria. Seems logical step to enquire asap but when did common sense prevail? Wouldn't bother mentioning PVR or they may just snap your other hand off!!!!!!!!!!!!
