What do you Man U fans (or anyone for that matter) make of the situation regarding this individual.
Sell him?
Persuade him to stay?
Let him rot in the stands if he decides he wants to leave?

Personally I reckon the talk around the last option is just tub-thumping by Ferguson. What would be the point in having an asset worth 50 million quid upwards sulking on the touchline; just to show him who'se boss? Its a pretty expensive way of standing by your principles :0

Sell him on at max price soonest if he is unhappy. If they leave him to fester eventually his contract expires and he walks for free on a Bosman. £50M now or nothing in a few years the Glazers are running a business not the Alex Ferguson fan club.

Ideally rot the Greedy Git in the stands but the reality is it isn't going to happen due to his worth. Selfish Git that he is....

I'd force the spoilt little ponce to play on loan at some league 2 team for the season.

Football is run by these money grabbing little ****s with no integrity or morals.

Forgive my being ignorant, but I always thought a contract was just that; where two parties made an agreement to do something. WTF is Real Madrid (?) on about; hasn't CR got some time to run at Man U ?

Sorry chaps, I forgot. It's business and no longer a game. Silly me.
I'll get my coat. . . . . .

I'd make him stew in the stands. No one player is bigger than the club.

Totally agree, contract is a contract, end of. These millionaire prima's need to learn that the contract they signed is just that.:PDT_Xtremez_09:

Turn that on it's head, why should a club be allowed to end a players contract early and make money on the deal?

I hope he goes!

I'm fed up with my 10yo daughter complaining about the amount of hair gel he uses!:PDT_Xtremez_14:

£45 million plus Snieder is a quality deal (thats according to the current bun), throw Robinho in as well and the Scum will be unbeatable for years........

So Schnieder & Robinho = 40 goals? I'm not convinced.

Plus they sell a lot less shirts!

But will the shirt of C.R. sell if he's sat in the stand week in week out. Take the cash plus 2 of the most exciting players in world football. Hell given the choice Alex should ask for Sergio Ramos as well.

That's what i meant in a way:PDT_Xtremez_21: Madrid want the "Beckham effect" again as well as the player.

imo he's irreplaceable, the team will need a large re-jig. Not that I'm complaining about that.

Agreed Beckham paid back his transfer fee in the first year, BUT according to reports C.R. will pay back over 10 years 1\2 BILLION......but where would you rather live Manchester or Madrid. Plus IMHO Real are and will always be the biggest club in the world. (and i'm a Cardiff fan by the way)

Football is no longer a sport, it's a business and they will not let an asset like CR sit on the side lines, they will make money out of him!
Also, he's made his mind up, let him go, he's not gonna give 100%. Imagine it was someone in the RAF and they 100% wanted to go, would you try and talk them out of it?
All contracts should have a way out, our's is called PVR!

i don't see what people are getting all worked up about...

to me it's a no brainer...

1. contract... whether 1 year or 10 years it means nothing since the bosman ruling! clubs sign players on long contracts knowing well that they won't last the distance.. whilst they are still under contract the club can sell for a fee..the longer left, the higher the fee.... if a player wants to go he simply walks away at the end of the contract and moves on...but it rarely happens!
most lower league clubs use the long contract system to their advantage! they sign a young player on a 5 yr contract knowing he'll stay 2 yrs and then they sell for a decent amount of dosh! i've known players have new contracts given to them for the club to get rid a few months later in a swap deal, ie the player being worth more as he has longer to run on his new contract!!

2. what most people forget..... he's not a british player! his family, his lifestyle, probably his friends are all from the med! so why should he stay in this dump of a city? that aside from the 200K a week tax free wage!
he owes nothing to nobody!

3. ask yourself this.....

you have a great job, with great mates... they pay you well and your working conditions are excellent....

a job offer comes in closer to home (weather aside!) with double the money, and possibly even better conditions than the last job you had...

would you stay or go???

see ya 'winker' ...........

That is very true mate, the only certainty about footballers contracts is that the majority of them will not be seen through to their conclusion. Its the building block upon which the whole transfer-for-money system works. Yet in spite of the amounts of money resting upon them, contract disputes are fairly uncommon; it is more common for some sort of agreement to be reached - uusally the sale of the player concerned.
Pierre Van Hooijdonk went on strike whilst at Notts Forest as he believed, essentially, that the club weren't able to fulfil a stated ambition of promotion back to the Premier League following relegation. And George Michael refused to record any more material for his label Sony in protest over their refusal to release him from a long term contract he signed as a youngster/

I don't know about that bit in bold though. When Ronaldo arrived at Man U he was a talented one trip pony, loads of fancy tricks but little end product. With the right coaching and nurturing he has developed his game to the status he now enjoys and I believe he owes that to Utd.
That said, he scored 40 odd goals last season and pivotal in bringing them the PL and CL titles, so in taht sense Man U also owe him.

Its a toughie, and the papers today (well the one I read anyway) suggest a compromise may well be reached whereby he gives Utd one more season and then is released.
But if he suffers an major injury in the meantime....:PDT_Xtremez_17:

Sell him, get the cash, then get Penguin sucks to snap his spine.

Off Topic John Coleman hasn't made any big pre-season sigings for Accy Stanley yet this could be his chance.Off Topic
