Good Afternoon guys and gals.

My name is Luke, I'm 21 and from Nottinghamshire.

I am currently interested in joining the RAF, and have a rather interesting run with them so far. I joined in April 2007, but left due to a back injury (voluntary withdrawl) as the physio said it could take over a year to fix and I was still in training at Halton. I didn't fancy sitting on RDF doing nothing (literally) all day every week for that long.

I applied in January and expected it to be a case of a couple of months to go through the application, but I was down at my PJFT 2 weeks later, which I did no preperation for and consiquently failed. Therefore, I have 6 months now to prepare for my next chance.

I am going for the RAF Police, which has been an interest of mine for a long time now. I currently work in Security for Events and Static with a previous experience in Door Supervision. My experience goes through Exhibitions to Conferences (including the Lib Dem Conferences, which is where I'll be in March), to outdoor music events and festivals.

I have been browsing this site for a while now and see a wide range of opinions on a lot of things... I seem to see quite a lot of people not wanting to actually stay in the forces anymore.

I come from a forces background... Dad did 22 years RAF, Grandad 18 years RAF, other grandad was in the Artillery, uncles in the Army, cousin is currently serving RAFP SNCO.

I think that covers most things =) ...
