Hi all
I thought it about time for me to join on these forums as i have been reading them alot lately, So heres abit about me im 20 male previously was doing an engineering apprenticeship but left in my 4th year due to the current climate with jobs. I have done a good bit of self defence in my passed and am looking forward to restarting this once i am accepted into the RAF. I am currently in the last stages of joining the RAF as i have completed the PJFT on tuesday earlier this week. I have just had a phone call to say that my dates will be the following-
2 day training at RAF Halton 27-28th august
9 weeks training at RAF Halton 11th November

I am really excited and cant wait i was abit annoyed how far away these dates seem but it will soon go and it means i can consentrate on on my fitness to be in good shape for the training. ooo ye forgot to say i will be joining as general tec (mechanical) :PDT_Xtremez_30:

Thanks all
Regards
Alex

Maybe a bit of "consentrating" on your spelling would help too!

Why FFS, he is joining as Gen Tech. He won't be writing letters to the Station Commander every week and although not perfect he was completely comprehensible. Credit to him for not using any text speak or trivial abbreviations.

Welcome to the goat mate.

DesertBaldy, although your spelling is always excellent, you appear to be unaware (from numerous of your previous posts) that when referring to yourself mid sentence as 'I' it must be a capital letter. Time and time again you refer to yourself as an 'i', which really weakens your credibility when welcoming a new goater……………with criticism of his grammar.

I am a little surprised that Downsizer hasn’t already started a thread on ‘how much of a cnut you are’, due to you evil deed. Lol

I'm assuming your civvy apprenticeship was 5 years long? If so even if the prospect of getting a job after it was slim would it not have been wise to finish it and bag the qualification?

You may hate the RAF, find yourself totally unsuited or even bored...

Thanks for the welcomes and yes i know my spelling isnt the best and punctuation is even worse. However thanks for the correction.

As for the question about wouldnt it be worth finishing my apprenticeship the answer is yes it probably would be but since coming out of that company and looking into the RAF im set that it seems a perfect job as long as the away time from family and girlfriend is bareable. I did apply for alot of companys to finish my apprenticeship but only 3 replys which were all sorry due to company problems we are not hireing any new apprenticeships this year we will keep ur application on record for 2010 ..
Since i was already applying for the RAF im set that its the right choice so hopefully all goes well as i cant wait to start my training.
