Hello all,

Pretty new to all this stuff, especially forums so I am not quite sure if I'm even posting in the right place, however I'm looking on some advice and help in joining the Air Force.
I am 17 years old at the moment and I applied for Welbeck towards the end of 2012 and was turned away due to medical issues. I then applied as a Weapons Technician in the summer of last year (July 2013) and was denied once again due to medical reasons, but was this time told to apply in a years time in order to be 5 years free of my medical problem.
I am studying A-Levels at the moment and as a result have changed my mind on which trade I would like to go for, to Aircraft Technician (Mechanical). I am just looking on some knowledge from some like minded people on my chances of being recruited (any help is would be greatly appreciated).

Regards, and huge thanks in advance!

Well I suppose I had to reply....................I'm afraid I have been out for too long to give you any advice, but there are plenty of "youngsters" on this site who can assist you, The only advice I can offer is Weapons Mech/Tech is an Honorable trade, even the ancillary trades do not have a Saint (St Barbara) I wish you every success with your application. :PDT_Xtremez_14::PDT_Xtremez_14::PDT_Xtremez_14: :PDT_Xtremez_14:

What advise are you after fella? Its a competitive climate at the moment and medical issues never look good on an application.

Thank you for your kind words Obi Wan!

Downsizer: I was really just looking on some guidance to how my chances are looking at the moment! My medical history in question is mild pollen asthma, however I sent a note with my application from my doctor that said I am fit as it doesnt affect me at all anymore - the problem arose when we foolishly stated it on the Welbeck application, clearly didnt pay off to be honest in this occassion!
